Marco is at the airport, waiting for his flight. A woman sits next to him.

“Excuse me,” she says. “Is this place free?”

“Yes, of course,” Marco answers.

“Thank you,” she says. “My name is Yuki. Where are you from?”

“I am from Italy,” Marco says. “And you? Are you from Japan?”

“Yes, I am Japanese,” Yuki answers. “I speak Japanese and a little English. What language do you speak?”

“I speak Italian, and I also speak French,” Marco says. “My mother is French.”

“That’s interesting,” Yuki says. “Is it difficult to speak two foreign languages?”

“Not really,” Marco answers. “It was easy when I was young, because my parents spoke different languages at home.”

“I want to speak more languages too,” Yuki says. “Maybe Spanish or German.”

“Spanish is a nice language,” Marco says. “I have friends from Spain and Germany. They say English has a different accent for them, but they understand it well.”

Yuki smiles. “The world is big, but people are not so different,” she says.

“That’s true,” Marco agrees. “We are all from different countries, but here we are, good friends already.”
